최재구 군수가 이끄는 예산군에 대한민국 대표 바이오기업 (주)셀트리온이 3천억 원 투자를 하기로 해 예산군의 경제 발전이 큰 획을 그을 전망이다.
예산군(군수 최재구)은 지난 11월 30일 충남도청 상황실에서 ㈜셀트리온과 3,000억 원 규모의 충남도 합동 투자협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이날 협약은 최재구 군수와 김태흠 충남도지사, 서정진 셀트리온그룹 회장, 기우성대표이사 등이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
㈜셀트리온은 2002년 창립해 세계 최초 항체 바이오시밀러 시장을 개척한 대한민국 대표 바이오 기업으로 현재 미국과 유럽 등 95개국에서 판매되는 ‘램시마’를 비롯해 ‘트룩시마’, ‘허쥬마’ 등 다양한 항체 바이오시밀러 제품을 판매 중이다.
특히 ㈜셀트리온은 예산제2일반산업단지 9만9,291㎡ 부지에 2024년 10월부터 2028년 12월까지 총 3,000억 원을 투자할 계획이며, 투자가 완료되면 2030년 바이오시밀러 글로벌 업계 1위 목표 달성에 한 걸음 더 다가갈 것으로 기대를 모은다.
또한 기업은 지역사회의 지속 가능한 발전을 위해 가족 친화적 기업 문화 조성과 지역 인력 우선채용 및 지역생산 농수축산물의 소비 촉진 등 사회적 책임 이행을 위해 노력해 나갈 것을 다짐했다.
최재구 예산군수는 “예산으로 공장 신설을 결정해 주신 서정진 회장님과 기우성 대표이사님, 그리고 임직원 여러분께 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “군과 기업이 동반 성장할 수 있도록 기업하기 좋은 환경을 구축하고 기업 애로 해소에도 적극적으로 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
